Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator who works with NBC News in Washington D.C., is a television anchor. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell was hired as a reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. In 1976 she became a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). She was hired by NBC News Washington two years following that as an general reporter. In 1980, she began covering the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House reporter in 1992, and chief Foreign Affairs reporter for NBC News. Mitchell has appeared as an anchor and a panelist on the TV news program Meet the Press. She participated as a member of the panel at 1988 presidential debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married with Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 she was awarded the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) awarded Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her contributions to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell initially covered in the White House for NBC News from 1981 to 1988, during both Ronald Reagan's presidency. She covered a wide range of notable stories, including arm control, budget tax reform as well as the Iran-contra scandal. Mitchell was frequently together with President Reagan for summits alongside Mikhail Gorbachev and other world leaders.
